Tuesday in the transpiled texts of crypto, Bitcoin (BTC) was at $19,085 when the day began, before climbing to $19,125 early, then falling to $19,050, only to rise higher to $19,245 by the end of the first quarter (first six hours). The second quarter started bearishly for the “orange coin,” however, as the asset fell as low as $18,995, then later rose to $19,166 in the 9th hour, only to fall even deeper to $18,690 midday. Not one to stay down, BTC gradually made its way back up the chart in the second half, slowly but surely, all the way back up to $19,175 and on an upward trajectory going into Wednesday. BTC, now down 6% for the week, has a marketcap of $365 billion still. Bitcoin dominance, meanwhile, has gone up .2% in the last 24 hours to what is now 38.1% versus all cryptoassets.
Moving on to Ether (ETH), the second-largest crypto by value was trading at $1,280 when the day began, and got as high as only $1,290 early, before falling back down to $1,280 in the 3rd hour, then rising back up to $1,290 at the end of the first quarter. To start the second, ETH would take a nosedive to $1,275 early, but quickly rise back up to $1,295 in the 9th hour, only to fall back down to $1,275, then climb to $1,280 around midday. After taking one more small fall to $1,275 in the third quarter, ETH started to gradually climb upwards, in a steady manner, reaching as high as $1,300 on its way up going into hump day. ETH, now down 6% for the week, has a marketcap of $155 billion.
In terms of the altcoins, Tuesday was a neutral day for the Top 100 by marketcap, with the bunch closing with an even number of winners to losers, oddly. As has been the case more often than not this week, there were no double-digit percentage movers among the group. The total marketcap of all cryptoassets, meanwhile, has come down nearly 2% in the last 24 hours to what is now $960 billion.
